چکیده

Radiation technology such as X-ray computed tomography (X-ray CT) is a powerful tool for materials research. Such non-destructive imaging allows us to visualize in three dimensions (3D) the internal structure of without damaging specimen. This paper thus presents our studies on application microfocus CT, synchrotron radiation and integrated microtomography diffraction (CT-XRD) method advance cement concrete CT images coupled with 3D image analyses allow identify measure air voids, pore scale microstructure crack geometry. Image-based computational simulations provide estimate transport parameters diffusion tortuosity water permeability digitized space. With introduction novel experimental techniques, deterioration or changes hydrated systems, example, attributed calcium leaching, freeze-thaw cycles, elevated temperature, steel reinforcement under tension are further elucidated. review then ends speculation future directions durability research via CT.

X-ray computed tomography.

X-ray computed tomography (CT), introduced into clinical practice in 1972, was the first of the modern slice-imaging modalities. To reconstruct images mathematically from measured data and to display and to archive them in digital form was a novelty then and is commonplace today. CT has shown a steady upward trend with respect to technology, performance and clinical use independent of predictio...

X-ray micro-computed tomography

Micro-computed tomography (μCT) has been successfully used to study the cardiovascular system of mouse embryos in situ. With the use of barium as a suitablecontrast agent, blood vessels have beenimaged and analysed quantitatively such asblood volume and vessel sizes on embryosof ages 14.5 to 16.5 days old. The advantageof using this imaging modality is that it hasprovide...

An iterative method to estimate x-ray attenuation coefficients in computed tomography

Introduction: The basis of image formation in Computed Tomography (CT) lies in the x-ray linear attenuation coefficient of the scanned material. Compton scattering and photoelectric effect are the dominant interactions of the x-ray photons with the subject, in the range of diagnostic radiology. These two coefficients are important in tissue characterization by Dual-Energy CT (D...

X-ray Computed Tomography for Medical Imaging

Themathematical principles of computed tomography (CT) were first investigated by J. Radon [28] as early as 1917 and were later extended to complex fields by Kirillov [22]. The first application of tomography was, surprisingly, in radio astronomy [2], and today, it finds usage in diverse fields such as medical imaging, seismology, and underwater acoustic imaging. In medical imaging, CT has had ...
